How to Show God’s Love from a Thankful Heart

Who loves you?

God loves you!

That is what we tell our children’s group starting from nursery age, so that they can lock it in. And, that’s how much God wants us realize his love for us. In fact, he loves us so much, that his word tells us consistently that he wants to fill our cups to the point where it’s overflowing with love we can share.

Some call our ability to extend God’s love to others ‘Gratitude Latitude.’ It’s when we express gratefulness for our relationships with friends, coworkers, and family.

This is not just something nice to do. It’s important to God.

Throughout the scriptures, God tells us that loving others is at the forefront of his heart. One verse that stands out is in the gospel of John:  

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35 NIV)

The top of the week holds lots of opportunity. Join me by thanking God and showing love to some of the people he has put in our path for their honesty, support, or encouragement in our lives.

Simple Ways to Make Love Practical

Here is a love challenge you can try this week. Write down a list of 5 people you really appreciate. Then, use your calendar to schedule a reminder to text each of them a kind word this week. You are going to bless them more than you know.
