Psalms 91: God's Shelter For You

What does Psalms 91 mean?

If you've ever experienced a tornado or another natural disaster, you know the meaning of sheltering in place.

Psalms 91 describes a place of safety for those who love God.

It's not a bunker or any other physical fort. It's a spiritual safe haven God has provided for refugees of sin. It's a demonstration of how God uses angels to protect us during threats and disease.

We can take hold of this promise by making it personal.

If we become familiar with dwelling in God's shelter ahead of time, we'll feel more secure in God's promise to us when danger approaches.

The best way to get close to God and stay in his shelter is to worship him every day of your life. Welcome him into all of your daily habits and learn what his voice sounds like.  That is the way you'll be open to his directions as he guides you into comfort and a place of safety.

Jesus replied, 'All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.' (John 14:23 NIV)

Is there a secret to the Psalm 91 blessing?

There's no big secret to Psalms 91.  It's out in the open. God wants to bless and protect you!

This week, try incorporating various verses from Psalms 91 into your prayer life.   Listen for any directions God gives you as you pray for yourself, your family, and your friends.
