Don't Quit Before It Gets Good: Today's Devotion

Don't Quit. Pray.
The game I had been waiting for was happening, except my team was losing. Afraid all had been lost, I turned to another program and settled in for the evening. The next morning, the first headline in my morning feed announced my team’s biggest comeback in NBA history. Why couldn’t I have just stuck it out and waited to see the end of the game?!
This lighthearted situation reminded me of a principle God wants us to hold onto.
When we are unsure about how our next chapter is going to end, we must remember not to give up early, because God is working on something.
“And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans 5: 2b-4 NIV
Be encouraged.
You may have been belittled in a relationship, lost someone close to you, or recently lost your job. Listen. God cares, and his word for you today is, ‘This is not the end.’
A Reflection for More Patience
Take a few moments this morning and read Matthew 11:28-30. Talk to God about what you need, and write a letter of gratitude to him for what he is teaching you while you wait on him to answer your prayers.
