Godly Friendship: Inspiration for Staying Connected
"Those who share their light brighten the world around them."
From the 8.2 billion people on the planet, 5.2 billion of us use social media to intertwine our lives, ideas, and experiences each other. However, studies reveal the nitty gritty.
We are still the loneliest generation. And while social media is a way to connect, God has a plan for connection and community that supersedes both generational limitations and groundbreaking inventions.
Check out this example in Acts 2:42. It says the early church “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Later, it says they saw miracles and shared with each other. The stuff you can’t stream.
And throughout the gospels, we can see Jesus sitting down with his disciples and others for meals as he taught, and even inviting his disciples to pray with him in the Garden of Gethsemane.
He knew fellowship was important.
Jesus longs to have personal fellowship with you, but he also has a plan for more. He wants to make your fellowship multi-dimensional to benefit you through community.
Spiritual Growth Challenge
This week, we challenge you to seek God for an opportunity to connect with a spirit-filled, Bible-based church.
If you are already a part of an online church community, consider going in person, participating in a holiday event, or asking about an opportunity to volunteer.
This will be a season for you to share your light and grow in Godly friendship with others.
